The Magic Flute rebooted by Komische Oper Berlin, Barrie Kosky and British theatre group 1927
Mozart’s comedy has been reimagined by Komische Oper Berlin director Barrie Kosky and British theatre group 1927.
1927's Co-Artistic Directors Paul Barritt and Suzanne Andrade explain the thinking behind the production's exhilarating mix of live action and animation, which blends 1920s silent movies, Weimar cabaret, German expressionism, Buster Keaton, demons and a giant bone spider who can strike lightning.
The Magic Flute is at the Festival Theatre, Edinburgh until 30 August 2015 - part of the Edinburgh International Festival's 2015 programme.
