Turkey changes course on Kurds and IS
Turkey has performed a U-turn on its own Kurdish separatists and IS - tearing up a peace deal with the Kurds and now attacking IS positions.
Turkey has performed a dramatic U-turn in two highly sensitive areas. After months of appearing to tolerate the group calling itself Islamic State, it's begun air strikes on IS positions. But it's bracketed these with attacks on Turkish Kurdish separatists based in Iraq. It's a big gamble by President Erdogan, after elections in which he lost seats he'd needed to boost his own power.
