How did the Eurovision Song Contest get its name?
The inventor of the word 'Eurovision' was called - very appropriately - George Campey. Mr Campey was a Television Publicity Officer among many other senior roles in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. He joined the Beeb in 1954 and had regular close contact with top talent and management. In this extract of an interview recorded after his retirement, George Campey describes the moment that Eurovision got its name.
