UKIP MEP: 'Needed to change sometimes neocon, tea party tone'
Steven Woolfe, UKIP MEP and the party's immigration spokesman said UKIP is "not a right wingβ and sometimes slipped into a negative tone during the election, but the βtone has moved inexorably forwardβ.
This followed comments by UKIP's economics spokesman Patrick O'Flyn, who told The Times Mr Farage risked turning the party into a "personality cult".
βWhat was absolutely correct about Patrickβs analysis of thisβ¦.is that sometimes the tone in our party had started to slip to something much more negative," said Mr Woolfe.
He said that a "very positive campaign" is needed to get out of the European Union.
