Employment minister on jobs, cuts and deficit

Unemployment in the UK has fallen to its lowest level for seven years - down 35,000 to 1.83 million.

New Employment Minister Priti Patel welcomed the news, telling Victoria that wages were rising and that the UK had β€œcreated more jobs for young people than all of Europe put together.”

But she would not be drawn on where the planned Β£12bn in welfare cuts would come from – or the exact figure of the deficit.
