Historical Abuse: David's Story Part III
This week we have been hearing David's Story - the testimony of a man who says he was the victim of historical sex abuse, forty years ago. It's a subject which we've reported often on this programme, allegations that some influential men in public life were complicit in sex abuse in the 1970's and 80's. In February the Government announced that a Judge from New Zealand, Justice Lowell Goddard, will chair the Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse.
It's a hugely complex task to find evidence to corroborate the victims' stories, since they happened so long ago, and the people, who say they've suffered appalling abuse, enter into a process which can sometimes yield few answers.
Our reporter Becky Milligan is examining one case to see how difficult it can be to get to the truth. Today we hear her final report, which is disturbing and of an adult nature.
