Stan Woods’ Story
Stan was nine and living in Cradley in Herefordshire. They had a day off school and his granddad took his shire horse and wagon for the parade.
Stan's dad groomed the horse and polished the brasses till they shone. They went to Mathon Court where the parade started. It went through the village to the village hall where they had a tea party.
Stan was dressed as a mole and hated his outfit! He says it was the last one left as nobody else wanted it. He was at school in the neighbouring village of Cradley so they didn't know that he'd be at that party.
