Vlad the vampire is looking after the castle whilst his Aunt Vera is away. When he sees the spooky shadow of a vampire, Vlad does not understand how shadows are made and believes that there is someone out to get him. Kate and Dave teach Vlad that light travels in straight lines. When it is blocked by an opaque object, a shadow is formed. Vlad realises that shadows can be fun and creates a vampire sundial in the garden and enjoys making spooky shadows with this friends Bella the spider and Lugosi the bat.
