A victim of abuse in Rotherham says she feels 鈥渟ad and sickened鈥� following new revelations that authorities in Rotherham were warned about child sexual exploitation in 2003 and again in 2006 but took no action.

鈥楢my鈥� (not her real name) was abused from 2003 at the age of 13. She told Victoria Derbyshire that she was groomed for a year before she was raped, threatened and locked in properties and passed among a group of men.

She says she has never received an explanation as to why nothing was done to help her, despite reporting her abuse twice.

In 2014, an inquiry found 1,400 children in the area were abused by gangs of men, mainly of Pakistani origin. The new revelations are based on two reports by ex-South Yorkshire Police drugs analyst Angie Heal, who says she "cannot fathom" why they did not lead to action.

Rotherham Council, which is now run by government appointed commissioners, says it has been "unable to find any reference to the documents being formally considered" by the authority.
