Scottish Sun Political editor on paper backing SNP

The newspapers are beginning to make their endorsements and one has a particularly interesting split.

The Sun in London said that a vote for the Conservatives is important to 'stop the SNP running the country' while The Sun in Glasgow said you should vote for the SNP.

β€œThey never show us the Irish edition…We have a great deal of self-determination to plough a different furrow,” said the political editor of the Scottish Sun, Andrew Nicholl.

James Naughtie asked him why the paper now backs the SNP when it didn't come down for a Yes vote in the referendum.

β€œWe’re not backing independence we are not backing a second referendum we are backing a heavy presence to speak up with a stronger Scottish voice at Westminster.”
