25 years of amazing discoveries from the Hubble Space Telescope
Self-confessed ‘Hubble-hugger’ and astrophysicist Mario Livio at the Space Telescope Science Institute celebrates the successes of the Hubble Space Telescope which was launched 25 years ago. Despite a rocky start, where the mirror needed adjustment and required a space-based engineer. The ‘People’s Telescope’ has made some amazing discoveries in our Solar System including finding super-massive blackholes at the centre of galaxies and calculating the age of the universe, as well as producing some stunning images.
