Oklahoma restaurant owner's emotional response to being called 'a hero'
The owner of a restaurant in Oklahoma cried after being hailed "a hero" for doing a good deed for a homeless person.
Ashley Jiron, who owns peanut butter sandwich shop P.B. Jams, noticed that somebody had been going through the dumpster at the back of the restaurant looking for food.
So she posted a note inviting them in for a free meal. The note said, "To the person going through our trash for their next meal, you're a human being and worth more than a meal from a dumpster. Please come in during operating hours for a classic, PB&J, fresh veggies, and a cup of water at no charge. No questions asked."
Jiron told ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 5 live that "through the generosity of others and our new campaign at P.B. Jams, I'm now able to feed over 600 people."
