As part of the programme's coverage of 100 seats in the run up to the election, Tom Bateman reports from Thanet South where UKIP leader Nigel Farage is running for election in an intense battle against Labour and the Conservatives.

Nigel Farage says is running in the constituency as he has worked there since 1999 and stood in 2010. Asked about pride in Kent's history of accepting immigrants Farage said the area had a history of defending its borders.

"I don't want to pull up the drawbridge but I want to control who comes over it," he said.

Labour candidate Will Scobie, himself a local says he is focusing his campaign on the area despite the focus on Farage.

"Nigel Farage is bringing negative publicity to our area, lots of journalists have written some pretty horrible stuff," he said.

The Conservatives' Craig Mackinlay is keen to focus away from immigration, saying it is not the issue that comes up on the doorstep.

"It's one of the issues that is not number one... nine months ago they were talking about it more but not in the last month," he said.
