AP McCoy: 鈥淚鈥檝e been very lucky"

AP McCoy will retire immediately if he wins this weekend's Grand National. It would be only his second Grand National win.

AP鈥檚 record-breaking career has brought a total of more than 4,300 victories despite a heavy toll of broken bones and a punishing diet to keep his weight down.

On announcing his decision to retire if he wins at Aintree, McCoy told the programme:

鈥淚鈥檝e had a lot of regrets, it鈥檚 the only thing in my life that I鈥檝e ever had any regret about鈥.

As he approaches the end of his career, AP added: 鈥淚鈥檝e been very lucky since I announced my retirement鈥 I鈥檝e been able to go racing the next day and the day after, I鈥檓 still getting that little buzz鈥t鈥檚 going to be very different when it all comes to an end and how I cope or how I鈥檓 going to deal with that I don鈥檛 know鈥.
