Autism in Ethiopia

Zemi Yunus set up the first school for children with autism in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, after her son was diagnosed with the condition. Now in its 13th year, the Joy Centre for Children with Autism has grown from just 4 students, to over 80. World Autism Awareness Day at the centre saw students and their families celebrate the skills they’ve learnt and developed at the centre, as the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Emmanuel Igunza found out.
