Joanne Harris: 'Cleanreader makes a nonsense of writing'

Author Joanne Harris, who's books include 'Chocolat', says a new app which replaces works in e-books which changes words in the text to remove profanities is a form of censorship.

Ms Harris says words replaced include body parts which are not profanities and is being done without the author's consent.

She added she didn't think the practice was legal as there might be a copyright issue.

"These are alternative versions of people's books been brought out without the consent of the author," she said.
