A 麻豆约拍 poll suggests the majority of British Muslims oppose violence against people who publish images depicting the Prophet Muhammad. Sima Kotecha visited Bradford to speak to Muslims there about their religion's portrayal.

Some feel the media is fuelling prejudice against Islam.

"Why are we being portrayed as such extremists? Yes we are extremists, we are extremist in our love for our Prophet, we are extremist in our love for our religion," said one local business woman.

A quarter said they had some sympathy for the motives behind the Paris attacks.

One man the reporter spoke to said: 'It wouldn't have happened if they hadn't put that cartoon out, they were provoking a reaction, and that's what they got.'

Volunteer Nazim Ali worries about young people becoming marginalised.

"It is a concern for me when young people say what is the point engaging in British society when often we are under attack and we're feeling marginalised. That is a cause for concern for me. A - because it creates apathy and secondly - you don't know what it can lead to."
