Julianne Moore speaks out about Alzheimer's

The actress Julianne Moore has been nominated for both a BAFTA and an Oscar for her role in 'Still Alice', a portrait of a woman in her 50s who develops Alzheimer's disease.

Speaking to reporter Tom Bateman at the UK premier, Julianne Moore said: "So much is not known about the disease. So much hasn't been represented".

"Only 5% of the Alzheimer's population is diagnosed with early onset because so often people think that dementia is a normal condition of ageing, when in fact it is not".

"It is a disease currently with no cure and no survivors".
