"The whole climb was incredibly taxing on our bodies and it was mentally very hard and so when we got to the top it was a huge sense of relief. It was seven years building up to it", Tommy Caldwell.

"I really got a sense of relief, it was pure joy to top out and know we were done", Kevin Jorgeson.

The two American climbers, scaled the Dawn Wall on Yosemite's El Capitan described by many as the toughest climb in the world. After 19 days of clinging to its vertical rock face the two reached the top on Thursday. Whilst they had ropes to stop them falling down, Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson had effectively pulled themselves up the 3000 feet of the Californian cliff. They say they hope their achievement will inspire others.
