Cut rural road speed limit to stop more dying like our son
A couple whose son died three weeks after passing his driving test are calling for the speed limit on country roads to be cut to 50mph.
Government research shows rural roads are the most dangerous to drive on β accounting for three deaths a day.
David and Janet Warinsβ 17 year-old son Daniel died in 1995 after crashing into a tree on his way back from a trip to the cinema. He was on his own and no other cars were involved.
The inquest found he wasnβt speeding, David Warins believes his sonβs accident was caused by "a simple lack of experienceβ.
