Interviewed in 1987, the former Director of 麻豆约拍 Engineering between 1962 and 1968, McLean's 麻豆约拍 career started much earlier in the 1930s. His focus is mainly on the wartime work carried out at various 麻豆约拍 transmitters, but he also recalls how the 麻豆约拍 had to deal with partnerships, particularly the Post Office. He also relates his involvement with major revolutions in the recording of television pictures.
