Yayoi Kusama has suffered from Mental Health problems throughout her life, checking herself into a hospital nearly 40 years ago and remaining there since with brief forays to London and New York for exhibitions of her work. The hospital allowed her to create a studio inside their building where she worked on a daily basis. She now has her own purpose built studio around the corner from the hospital where she goes to create her lucrative artworks. However her mental health is as fragile as ever and she fears for her safety on a daily basis.
