Litir 229: Dr貌bhairean ann an Coire Bhran.

Tha mi a鈥 dol a th貌iseachadh na Litreach seo le t貌imhseachan: Ciamar a tha fiacail a chaidh a tharraing coltach ri n矛 a chaidh a dh矛ochuimhneachadh? Seo e a-rithist: Ciamar a tha fiacail a chaidh a tharraing coltach ri n矛 a chaidh a dh矛ochuimhneachadh?

Uill, tha an fhreagairt s矛mplidh gu le貌r: dh鈥檉halbh i 脿s a鈥 cheann. Dh鈥檉halbh i 脿s a鈥 cheann.

Tha aon rud nach fhalbh 脿s mo cheann-sa airson 霉ine mh貌ir, ge-t脿. 鈥橲 e sin an d脿 l脿 a thug mi seachad o chionn ghoirid, a鈥 coiseachd air rathad Monadh Miongaig eadar Bl脿r Athall agus Ceann a鈥 Ghiuthsaich. Mar a bha mi ag innse dhuibh an t-seachdain sa chaidh, b鈥 e sin fear de na seann rathaidean eadar B脿ideanach agus Athall, agus tha e a鈥 dol thairis air talamh 脿rd. Nuair a bha mise ann, bha cur is cathadh ann. Bha mi leam fh矛n agus cha robh e furasta an rathad a lorg ann am p脿irtean, oir bha an sneachd ga ch貌mhdachadh. Agus ann am p矛osan, chan eil sgeul air an rathad co-dhi霉, a r猫ir aithris, eadhon as aonais sneachda.

Chan ann mar sin a bha e o shean nuair a bhiodh dr貌bhairean a鈥 toirt crodh gu margaidh thairis air Monadh Miongaig. 鈥橲 e rathad ceart a bh鈥 ann an uair sin. Ach cha bhiodh na dr貌bhairean ga chleachdadh gu 矛re mh貌ir sam bith anns a鈥 gheamhradh agus, gu dearbh, chan eil Monadh Miongaig uabhasach taitneach aig 脿mannan ann an droch sh矛de. Thathar ag innse fhathast mu bhuidheann de shaighdearan dearga a chaill am beatha ann, agus iad a鈥 d猫anamh air Gearastan Ruadhainn, faisg air Ceann a鈥 Ghiuthsaich, ann an seachd ceud deug, ceathrad 鈥檚 a c貌ig (1745). Chaidh an glacadh ann an stoirm anns a鈥 mhonadh.

鈥橲 e an 脿irde a ruigeas Monadh Miongaig as coireach ris an droch sh矛de a bhios ann. Tha e a鈥 ruigsinn c貌rr is d脿 mh矛le is seachd ceud troigh os cionn na mara. Agus, air sg脿th sin, nuair a bhathar a鈥 togail rathad m貌r 霉r, far a bheil an A9 an-diugh, chaidh slighe eile a thaghadh, ged a tha i deich m矛le nas fhaide. Aig a鈥 bhealach as 脿irde, aig Druim Uachdair, tha an A9 a鈥 ruigsinn d矛reach m矛le agus c貌ig ceud troigh 鈥 m矛le is d脿 cheud troigh nas 矛sle na Monadh Miongaig. Ged a bhios e sneachdach aig 脿mannan anns a鈥 gheamhradh, chan eil e idir cho sneachdach ri Monadh Miongaig.

Tha aon 脿ite ann aig mullach Monadh Miongaig a tha air leth br猫agha, agus anns am faighear beagan fasgaidh, ma tha sin a dh矛th. Th脿inig mi air a-mach 脿s a鈥 che貌, agus mo chuid aodaich c貌mhdaichte le sneachd. Mu mo choinneamh bha allt a bha a鈥 sruthadh gu socrach tro chlais, le cluaintean feurach air gach taobh dheth. Anns an allt bha tr矛 lachan 鈥 cearc agus d脿 isean. Ghabh iad eagal am beatha nuair a chunnaic iad mi, agus mi a鈥 coimhead coltach ri yeti!

Tha an t-allt cama-l霉bach, agus 鈥檚 e an t-ainm a th鈥 air Caochan L霉b. Cha b鈥 urrainn 脿ite na b鈥 fhe脿rr a lorg air monadh fosgailte airson crodh ionaltradh no airson beagan fasgaidh fhaighinn. Is iomadh dr貌bhair anns an t-seann aimsir a bhiodh toilichte Caochan L霉b fhaicinn, tha mi cinnteach.

Faisg air mullach Monadh Miongaig tha coire ann air a bheil Coire Bhran. Bha e ainmeil o shean a chionn 鈥檚 gum biodh dr貌bhairean 脿 m貌ran 脿iteachan anns a鈥 cheann a tuath a鈥 tighinn cruinn ann, agus iad a鈥 d猫anamh deiseil airson a dhol thairis air a鈥 mhonadh gu ruige Athall c貌mhla. Carson a rachadh iad ann c貌mhla? Uill, innsidh mi sin dhuibh anns an ath Litir.

Puing-ghr脿mair na seachdaine

Puing-ghr脿mair na seachdaine: Tha mi a鈥 dol a th貌iseachadh na Litreach seo le t貌imhseachan: I am going to start this Litir with a puzzle. Can you explain why I used the genitive singular form of Litir, ie Litreach? The reason is that it follows a verbal noun, a th貌iseachadh. Similarly, we say tha mi a鈥 sgr矛obhadh na Litreach, not tha mi a鈥 sgr矛obhadh an Litir. But in the example above, we do not have the 鈥渦sual鈥 or 鈥減rogressive鈥 form of the verbal noun eg tha mi a鈥 sgr矛obhadh, tha mi a鈥 t貌iseachadh, tha sinn a鈥 glanadh. Instead it is the form which indicates intent, and which follows a verb of motion (most commonly rach, the verb 鈥渢o go鈥). It still requires the genitive, however. Other examples (note the genitives) are: tha e a鈥 dol a leagail na craoibhe (he is going to fell the tree); tha mi a鈥 dol a cheannach nam p脿ipearan (I am going to buy the papers); chaidh e a dh鈥檌arraidh a mh脿thar (he went to collect his mother).

T貌imhseachan na seachdaine

T貌imhseachan na seachdaine: Ciamar a tha fiacail a chaidh a tharraing coltach ri n矛 a chaidh a dh矛ochuimhneachadh?: how is a tooth that was extracted like a thing that has been forgotten? Dh鈥檉halbh i 脿s a鈥 cheann: It has left the head.
