Campaigners across Britain are planning a series of protests this weekend, before the latest round of talks in Brussels aimed at creating a transatlantic free trade agreement. It is officially called the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and negotiators for the United States and European Union hope to wrap up a deal by end of next year. But it is proving controversial, with supporters claiming an agreement would bring massive economic benefits, while opponents fear there may be several drawbacks, such as loss of workers rights.

It has been a good decade for animated films for the family. How to Train Your Dragon comes from the stable of one of the two biggest animation studios, Dreamworks, the maker of Shrek, Madagascar and Kung Fu Panda. Jeffrey Katzenberg, the founder and chief executive of Dreamworks is also a former chairman of The Walt Disney Studios. When the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Evan Davis caught up with him the conversation drifted towards how the latest in the How to Train Your Dragon series plays on themes that are very alive in everyday life. Hiccup the young protagonist has an absent mother and lives with his father, so was the aim to deliberately tackle themes that would be strikingly real to some viewers?

The country singer Garth Brooks is embroiled in a huge controversy in Ireland after pulling out of a deal for five concerts in Dublin. The musician's management team were dismayed by objections raised by local residents near the venue, Croke Park. However Brooks has said he still wants to put on a show for the 400,000 Irish fans who have already bought tickets.
