Shiraishi is an island in the Seto Inland Sea of Japan, inhabited by just 570 people. Its population has steadily fallen in the last 20 years and the remaining residents fear that the decline may be irreversible. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Mark Whittaker paid them a visit.
