Ryan Davies reads an Excerpt from Quite Early One Morning
Welsh actor and comedian Ryan Davies, reads an excerpt from the Dylan Thomas piece ’Quite Early One Morning’. The performance was recorded in front of a live audience in a pub in Letterston, Pembrokeshire as part of the ‘Poems & Pints’ series, and transmitted on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Two on December 19th 1975. ‘Quite Early one Morning’, written when Dylan Thomas lived in New Quay early in the Second World War (characters portrayed here were apparently based on people who lived in the town) was first performed by Thomas on the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Welsh Â鶹ԼÅÄ Service in August 1945. It was eventually developed into the epic radio play for voices ‘Under Milk Wood’.
