Donald Macleod's Mozart - Part 1
Donald Macleod maps out Mozart's life-story, plays many of his favourite works and tries to fathom why for him Mozart's music will always remain a constant companion.
He begins by looking at the talents of the βboy wonderβ and then moves on to the extended Mozart family - looking through a wide-angled lens and connecting the music with the faces. Macleod follows the Mozart family, as it route-marches its way round Europe platforming the children's apparently miraculous musicality.
Donald Macleod then introduces some of Mozart's most thought-provoking piano music, revealing the composer's approach to playing it and tracing the development of the instrument.
