Are dog thefts really a problem?
Mark investigates the rise in the number of dog thefts.
Hear why we're being warned not to leave our dogs unattended - even for a few minutes. A Hull animal charity says they've seen an increase in dog napping cases. Is this something we need to take seriously, or just scaremongering? Mark speaks to the charity Dog Lost - who have tens of thousands of volunteers looking to reunite missing dogs with owners, and he hears from a woman who had four dogs taken.
Time to dish the dirt on your boss, and share with Mark the unusual things you've been asked to do for work. He takes a tour of the country and hears from a reporter climbing Durham Cathedral's tower; a presenter having a go at pig husbandry; and it's a tough job but someone's got to do it - he heads to an award winning cider orchard!
Your pint will be served with a side order of science next week in York. Looking ahead to a three day festival taking place in the city's pubs. Mark speaks to one of the volunteers behind 'Cafe Scientifique' - who run hundreds of events across the country. Meetings take place in cafes, bars, restaurants and even theatres, but always outside a traditional academic context.
We commemorate International Conscientious Objectors' Day with a visit to Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre.
