This week we're going to look at some of the big challenges facing cities around the world through the eyes of engineers, the people who tackle these problems for a living.

As the world becomes more urbanised as the 21st Century progresses, the need for massive infrastructure investment and development in developing countries becomes more acute.

Rich countries aren't immune from challenges either as they need to replace roads, bridges and railway systems.
