Elizabeth Corr

Mar chuid de chomóradh 100 bliain ó bunaíodh Cumann na mBan i mBaile Átha Cliath i 1914 labhraíonn an Dr Éamon Phoenix le Blas faoi Elizabeth Corr, bean as Bóthar Ormeau i mBéal Feirste a bhí lárnach san eagraíocht ó thuaidh le linn Éirí Amach na Cásca. Cuireadh Ms Corr faoi agallamh ag daltaí scoile sna 1970dí agus a bhuíoch d’Éamon craolfar an t-agallamh seo den chéad uair le linn an chláir.

Sa ghrianghraf tá Eamon Phoenix taobh amuigh den teach inar tógadh Elizabeth Corr.

As part of the centenary commemoration of the founding of Cumann na mBan in Dublin in 1914, Dr Éamon Phoenix speaks to Blas about Elizabeth Corr from the Ormeau Road in Belfast who was central to the organisation in the north during the Easter Rising. Éamon has also unearthed an interview with Ms Corr conducted by school children in the 1970’s, never before broadcast.

The photograph shows Eamon Phoenix outside the house where Elizabeth Corr was raised.
