The developers told Good Morning Devon: "We held two events where the public were allowed to raise their concerns and spent a long time with residents discussing the masterplan. The application is an outline and the final design of the houses hasn't yet been made. Overall, the site is allocated by the Council in the emerging plan for "At least 250 dwellings" and this reflects the need in the town and the assessment of sites within and around the area. The planning application has been prepared in the context of this overall plan and seeks to make best use of the site for housing, whilst providing open space and a bus route which will benefit existing and future residents. "
