Should NRI's be able to vote from abroad?
Should you be able to vote when you don’t live in a country, even if you are a citizen?
With the drama of this year’s national elections in India already unfolding, here in England some Indian citizens are saying they want to be able to vote by absentee ballot from abroad.
Currently Indian citizens living abroad can vote if they have registered and are present in India in their constituency on polling day.
But if you don’t live in the country, are not paying taxes, and are not part of the daily issues, should you be able to?
Well nrivote14.com have launched a petition for the absentee ballot. In this extract reporter Ruchi Tandon finds out why some Indians living in England feel they should have the right to vote...
