How has working night shifts affected you?

Scientists at the Sleep Research Centre in Surrey say the daily rhythms of our genes are disrupted when sleep times shift. Other, previous research has already linked night shifts to higher rates of type 2 diabetes, heart attacks and cancer but this research is the first to show disruption at a deep molecular level.

In this 90-second summary Victoria hears how people have been affected by their overnight work pattern; Alan from Mansfield has worked nights on and off for 20 years, Jacqui is a security officer for the University of East Anglia, Jim Cook is an emergency service worker in New Malden and
Glenn Jackson runs a phone-answering service and has found a solution to his staff working overnights.
