New Year’s prayers at Wellingborough
The annual New Year celebrations took place at the Swaminarayan Temple in Wellingborough on the 1st January. The event is a national one and draws over five thousand devotees to the Temple to pray for world peace, harmony and for inner peace. This year marks the 30th year of the celebrations at the Temple on Mill Road in Wellingborough. The structure of the new temple was completed in 2009 with additions such as the spires being completed over the last couple of years. Dr Hiten Patel is a volunteer in the Public Relations department for the Temple. In this interview he begins by explaining to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Jona Kotnis about the importance of the celebrations for the Hindu community in Wellingborough.
