Helen Bamber
The psychotherapist Helen Bamber worked with Holocaust survivors in Germany after the concentration camps were liberated in 1945. Her work with survivors from Belsen and Auschwitz influenced her to help establish Amnesty International and co-found the Medical Foundation for Care of Victims of Torture.
She talks about the importance of the foundation and of bearing witness to what has happened to these tortured people in order to help with their recovery; especially in cases of rape and electricity torture because they leave little visible evidence but the psychological damage is vast.
