JG JAM - STIR IT UP MEDLEY - 14th September 2013
Duration: 04:49
Anita Edgar
Anita is a Grandma. She also rescues street children in India!
She's back home in Devon for a short break and will be joining us to tell us all about the charity she co-founded; El Shaddai Street Child Rescue India
Hear her story - and find out how you might be able to help too - on today's show.
Jay Tamkin
A lot has happened for Jay Tamkin since his last trip to the Saturday morning show; he's played Glastonbury, supported Kings of Leon and performed in Germany.
He's a one-man-band in a box! A multi-instrumentalist who's as comfortable singing a romantic ballad as belting out a rock song.
He's one of Devon's busiest performers, and he's taking time out to come and share his Saturday morning and some of JG's cake!
The Average Blues Band
The Average Blues Band has been performing for the last eight years with only one change of personnel – "We wore out our first drummer and had to buy a new one," they joke.
In fact John, their new drummer, was 'secondhand' having played on several UK and European hit records. "He still receives royalty payments - so we don’t have to pay him!â€
We'll hear all about the band when they travel from North Devon to the Saturday morning studios in Plymouth to perform live on the show.
Go Tell Alice
Steve and Lizzie Walker from Newton Abbot perform together as Go Tell Alice.
Steve writes the tunes and Lizzie helps out with the lyrics.
They've been performing together for two years and in their first 12 months they played over 100 gigs.
Now they run three different open mic nights and are looking forward to appearing at Abbfest.
They'll be telling us all about it - and performing live on today's show.
Jack Tucker
Plymouth singer songwriter Jack Tucker is a qualified electrician who went travelling to India and decided to become a full-time musician on his return.
He regularly runs open-mic nights, giving other local musicians the chance to perform.
In the next month or so he's off travelling again.
Jack intends to see as much of Europe as he can, performing along the way, with only his music as currency.
"I plan to be a 'seasoned pro' by the time I get back," he says.
We'll hear from Jack and he'll play live in the studio when he joins today's studio full of guests.
Audible1 and Maz Totterdell
Two local artists. who have both appeared on this show in their own right, have come together for a new collaboration.
Mixing two very different genres, Exeter's Audible1 (aka Alex Norgate) has teamed up with teenage folk singer Maz Totterdell to create a really catchy summer anthem.
Maz released her self-penned, debut album Sweep in 2012 when she was just 15 years old.
Audible1 spends much of his time producing, touring and teaching. He's known primarily as an MC, DJ and beat-boxer.
They'll be here to chat about their new collaboration and plans for the future.
Moxham's Movies
Join him, with JG after midday, for Moxham's Movies.
