India and Panama
Rahul Tandon from Calcutta finds considerable local contention over the use of the word 'slums'. Plus, Mick Webb reports from Latin America's fastest growing economy - Panama
Rahul Tandon from Calcutta goes in search of Badar Azim, the man who announced the birth of baby Prince George and then had to swiftly leave the UK due to his visa expiry. On finding the street where Mr Azim's family live in Calcutta, Rahul finds there's considerable local contention over whether the 'S' word (slums) should be used to describe the neighbourhood.
And, Mick Webb reports from Latin America's fastest growing economy - Panama. Next year marks the centenary of the the opening of the Panama Canal and today buildings are shooting skywards, a new metro system is being launched and a hydro electric dam being constructed to provide the extra energy needed for this booming economy. Yet Mick finds that the poorer indigenous communities of Panama feel they are not seeing the benefits of this new wealth Panama is attracting.
