Musical extracts include Aboriginal pop music, Caribbean Carnival, Indian Tabla and Western drum kit. Big George explains how the BPM (beats per minute) of a piece of music is important because it affects our reaction to it. A range of tempos are discussed including rave music which can have a BPM of over 200, and 70s disco which is often performed at a BPM of 137.
