Is anyone listening to us?
If we detect intelligence in outer space, should we send a message back? And why are we still waiting and listening? Maybe we should make the first move. Doug Vakoch at the Seti Institute in California thinks we should at least consider putting messages out there (Seti stands for Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence). In a project called Earth Speaks, he’s asking people around the world what they’d like to say.
