Lettrs.com is trying to revive long form communications with a website that encourages you to write the old fashioned way. You can also scan and upload your old letters too to store in your digital shoebox.

If you fancy a piece of the online retail pie, Tictail is a new free platform that will have you up and running with an online shop in just a few simple clicks and there is no technical know-how required.

To capture epic moments like a stunning sunset or just record your journey to work, take along a time-lapse app. Lapse It is free on Android and iPhone and lets you set up and record individual frames over a long period of time which are then played back as super-speeded up movies.

On 1 July the Google Reader RSS service shuts down for good so make sure you use the Takeout tool to download all your data before then as it will not be available afterwards.

We looked at Feedly a few weeks ago as a good RSS feed replacement with stress-free porting of your Google links with one click.

Pulse is another app trying to pick up the slack by making it super easy for Google Reader users to import their feeds.

But maybe it is time to make a change? Major news stories surface naturally through social media streams like Facebook and Twitter and Likehack filters out the noise to provide a digest of interesting stories based on your typical sharing history.

You can add individual RSS feeds and pick from their selection of popular sources, plus there is the obligatory Google Reader migrate button.
