A rough history of coalmining in Wales, including the events of the strike in 1984, which lasted a whole year, and the battle to keep the Tower Pit, near Hirwaun, open. In 1995, the miners themselves bought the pit, but by 2008 the geological battle had been lost. The pit closed.
