Hitler's propaganda in 1939
An eye-witness account of how the outbreak of war in 1939 was greeted in Germany with almost universal glee. Propaganda at the time led the German people to believe that it was Poland who had instigated the war. The clip includes archive footage of Hitler and an interview with a German-born Welshman,Win Trepte who remembers the effectiveness of the German propaganda machine of the time.
