Parable of the Lost Son
The parable of the Lost Son is from the Christian gospels – stories with a moral meaning, as told by Jesus to his followers.
A farmer who has two sons divides his wealth. One son stays to work on the family farm, the other leaves the family home and returns years later, penniless. The Lost Son is treated as a returning hero, much to the annoyance of the son who stayed to work.
