The commentary from a woman describing two Jewish children playing during the Second World War. The children walk past some Nazi soldiers with guns and Mum explains to one of the girls that they both need to pack up and leave. The commentary explains it was only the most precious items that could be taken, so it didn't look like it was for good. The family leave the house separately. They walk to a house with a secret part hidden in the cellar, where Mum leaves the children. The commentary explains she did not see her mother again for a very long time.
