Food advertising in the 1960s
The arrival of ITV in 1955 introduced us to television adverts for the first time, but the sixties was when the industry really came of age. Tickling the taste buds of our increasingly affluent population with a mind-boggling array of exciting food products.
With more choice on offer it was important for brands to stand out, so they turned to the masters of this new science, the advertising agency.
