Nottingham discussion: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt ordered to return to prison.
The Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been ordered to return to prison for his connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts. The actor has been on bail since 2007, but the Indian Supreme Court ruled he must return to serve a five year sentence.
Dutt was convicted in 2006 of buying weapons from bombers who attacked Mumbai. The trial court found him guilty of illegally possessing a rifle and a pistol but cleared him of conspiracy. He said the weapons were necessary in order to defend his family during the Hindu-Muslim rioting of 1993.
So what's been the effect on the industry of this high profile case? And is it impacting his fans here in England?
