Bach: St Matthew Passion (Part 1)

Ian Skelly introduces the first part of Bach's St Matthew Passion, performed live from Philharmonic Hall in Cracow.

Andrew Parrott conducts the paired-down forces of Capella Cracoviensis, as he believes the work would have been performed in Bach's time, with a small orchestra and just a few singers taking all the solo and chorus parts.
