A historic trial dramatised from the Old Bailey archives. The case of the Thief Taker General from 1725. Jonathan Wild is on trial for stealing and receiving stolen goods. Witness testimony reveals that he organised crimes then benefited from the return of the goods stolen. Even imprisoned in Newgate he manages to control crime. Wild is found guilty and sentenced to hang. The case is played out in the court room with dramatic flashbacks to illustrate the crime. The court reporter sets the scene and offers insight and context.
