Curriculum victory! Now a battle for Seacole in stone - London
More than 37,000 people signed a petition forcing the government to rethink removing Mary Seacole from the National Curriculum.
Now that battle has been won…but it doesn't stop there.
Campaigners are trying to raise funds for a statue in memory of Mary, which will stand outside St Thomas' Hospital.
In the next few weeks there will be a series on events to raise money...the first is a "Song for Seacole" concert on 24th March...
Professor Elizabeth Anionwu, who’s involved in the Mary Seacole Statue appeal, tells Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ London’s Dotun Adebayo why she deserves a memorial.
