A new system of warning and penalising those who illegally copy and distribute content on the internet has begun in the US, following similar schemes in France and New Zealand.

In other tech news, Apple has agreed to pay compensation to parents whose children downloaded 鈥渇ree鈥� apps which then charged for content, LG has purchased HP鈥檚 Palm WebOS and a smartphone has been launched into orbit by India. Spencer Kelly reports.
